Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a structured group or individual program which teaches individuals the principles of mindfulness and how to apply them to deal more effectively with stress, illness (physical and mental), and the demands of daily life.

The program consists of body awareness exercises, meditation, and discussion that are all personalised to suit your individual needs. Mindfulness is a way of being more deeply present to your body, your thoughts, and your emotions and importantly to your daily activities, your family and social life.

Through practising mindfulness you can experience deep relaxation, calmness, and inner balance as well as better manage uncomfortable or unwanted experiences such as physical or emotional pain, so you can engage more fully with those roles and routines that are most important to you as an individual.

Our occupational therapists are registered providers for the Medicare initiative: Focused Psychological Strategies – Allied Mental Health Services, which attracts Medicare rebates.
